Throughout the warmer months we will source wild caught Australian prawns. There are numerous prawn species including Endeavor, Banana, School, Red Spot King and Tiger to name a few.
Predominantly we stock fresh King and Tiger prawns, cooked ready to consume. These Tiger prawns are caught in the warmer waters of Queensland. The king prawns can be from the coastal waters of Queensland, South Australia, Clarence River & Lakes entrance.
Prawns are an excellent source of complete protein. This means it includes all nine amino acids. They are lower in calories then chicken or beef however they deliver the same amount of protein.
All year round we stock various sizes of frozen raw and cooked King prawns. These prawns are cooked on board the vessels and are snap frozen. This ensures for premium eating quality once thawed. We find the best way to thaw is to place them on a plate in the fridge the night before consuming, or a quick alternative is to run through cold water.
